We highly recommend Dave Hepler of Helper Homes for future prospective homeowners seeking to build a custom home. Working closely with Dave and his team starting in 2021 we presented him with land we had found along with house plans. Building a new home requires motivation, energy and knowing what we envisioned for our new downsized forever home. Hepler homes and all of Dave’s contractors with Tim from Carter Lumber, Mike with Davenport, Ed at Midsouth Building Supply, and the Floor Shop of Winchester, John at Frederick Block and Joe Hammer the finishing carpenter became our new team to bring this vision to a reality.
Dave Hepler and his crew met and exceeded our home details by making sure everything requested was done professionally.
The pandemic and post pandemic period in which this house was built required Dave’s part adapting to delays, schedule changes and accommodating unforeseen conditions to work with.
Communication throughout the whole process was conducted through Co-construct platform and frequent phone calls or meetings to stay informed. This helped us stay within a budget in spite of the increases in building costs.
We highly recommend Dave Hepler as a builder. He is a man of his word and his reputation in the trades followed him everywhere we met. Thank you, Dave. Our home is now complete October 2023. After a year of moving in and getting settled we are delighted with our new home. We are grateful for you and your team.

Dave Hepler of Hepler Homes builds a beautiful home, to be sure. He also does great renovations, additions and repairs. I have had my real estate license since 2004 and have gone through numerous home inspections with my clients. When I need solid repairs done in a timely manner I call Dave. His team works cleanly, efficiently and meticulously and they have done services such as new electric panels, replaced entire exterior walls, new roofs, not to mention anything else we have needed. Dave also works really well with other professionals in the business such as structural engineers and inspectors. He is always very respectful of my clients and their schedules – often to the point of making the sale go to closing without delay because his work is done on time.
